From heritage railways and scenic canal cruises to the historic city of York and charming market towns, this carefully planned holiday showcases some of the very best that Yorkshire has to offer.
Day 1 - Travel & Downtown Grantham
Sit back, relax and enjoy the journey as we make our way north towards Yorkshire. En route, we stop at Downtown at Grantham, one of the region’s most popular shopping and lifestyle destinations. With a range of shops, cafés and restaurants, you'll have time to enjoy lunch and a browse before we continue our journey.
Arriving at Warner’s Nidd Hall in the late afternoon, settle into your room and begin your holiday in the comfort of this magnificent country house hotel. This evening, enjoy dinner followed by Warner’s renowned entertainment.
Day 2 - Embsay & Bolton Abbey Railway, Skipton & Canal Cruise
Today we enjoy one of the highlights of our holiday. Travelling into the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, we board the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway for a nostalgic journey through stunning countryside aboard a heritage train.
Following our railway experience, we continue to the bustling market town of Skipton, often referred to as the "Gateway to the Dales". Enjoy free time for lunch, shopping or perhaps a stroll through the historic streets and market area.
In the afternoon, we relax aboard a scenic canal cruise along the Leeds and Liverpool Canal, offering a unique perspective of the Yorkshire countryside before returning to Nidd Hall.
Day 3 - A Leisure Day at Warner’s Nidd Hall
Today is yours to enjoy entirely at your own pace. Make the most of the hotel’s extensive facilities, relax in the beautiful grounds, take part in the daily activities, or simply unwind with a coffee and good company.
Warner Hotels are renowned for their excellent dining, leisure facilities and first-class entertainment, making this the perfect opportunity to enjoy everything the resort has to offer.
Day 4 - York & The National Railway Museum
Today we visit one of England’s most historic and beautiful cities. York offers something for everyone, from its magnificent Minster and medieval city walls to its charming, cobbled streets, independent shops and fascinating museums.
You may choose to spend your day exploring the city centre, browsing the famous Shambles or enjoying lunch in one of the many cafés and restaurants.
For railway enthusiasts, the world-famous National Railway Museum will be one of our drop off points, home to an impressive collection of historic locomotives and railway memorabilia.
After a full day exploring York, we return to Nidd Hall for our final evening of dining and entertainment.
Day 5 - Stamford & Homeward Journey
After breakfast, we bid farewell to Yorkshire and begin our journey home. En route, we stop in the beautiful market town of Stamford, widely regarded as one of England’s finest stone towns.
